This type of elbow fitting is designed to be used in piping systems where a change in direction is needed. The 90-degree angle of the fitting allows for a smooth and gradual change in direction of the flow of water or other fluids passing through the pipes. The male threads on both ends of the elbow fitting would enable it to be screwed onto corresponding female threaded pipes or fittings, providing a secure and leak-free connection.
